Where has the time gone?

This year when we went to Bronner's, Jack was very excited to walk in the snow.I really like the atmosphere at Bronner's, especially at Christmas. Even though it's a long trek, I think it's the perfect place for Jack to sit on Santa's lap and we started a tradition on his first visit that we've continued.
Do you remember this little guy? Look how small and wide-eyed. Such a sweet little guy.
He's gotten bigger... (if you recall he was not very excited about seeing Santa last year.)
And even bigger (Hey Bronner's how about moving that trash can, it's interfering with our tradition!) but he's still a sweet little guy.

Last Christmas ...

Our little man wasn't very happy to see Santa Claus, but this year He even gave him a smile and requested a train.

He's really into the concept of Christmas this year, excitedly saying, "It's Christmastime," whenever he sees any decorations or hears Christmas music.

Adventures in Jackland

Jack and I met a friend and her baby, who just turned a year, at a place in Birch Run that has indoor inflatibles. It was a great time.

Jack was fearless and as you can tell by his face, he loved it!
Jack was a short order cook for Halloween, inspired by the free hats from Steak and Shake. He wore his costume to Reading Time at the Library, where I shot this picture of him hold a chef puppet. Last year, when he was a cowboy, I got a picture of him holding a cow puppet. (:

Concentrating on his craft.

Doggies, Birthdays and Pumpkins

Jack was beside himself when a farmer at the Ella Sharp Museums Fall Festival asked him if he wanted to sit on the big, red tractor he was admiring.
Sure do!
Wow, that's a big pumpkin.

A quiet moment of play at a friends b-day party.
Uhhhh, kid if you're not going to eat that I will.
Oh good, you're getting the hang of it.

Hey, where's my legs?
Here they are! I just had them tucked into my t-shirt, you see how I did that?
Hey, you've got doggy breath!

I know, I've been bad at updating this blog. But this little guy has been keeping me busy. Here's some shots from our busy summer.
Jack got to hang with his cousins, Walker and Wilson. "Hey Uncle Brad, can you move any faster? I want some cake!"

He got to ride in a golf cart.

He found other statues at the Lansing Lugnut games.

He got to ride a pony.

Generally it was an all-around good time.

But it sure was tiring.

The faces of Jack

Okay, so when I'm trying to get a picture of Jack, he never cooperates. When I'm trying to get a picture of a chair, Jack immediately gets into the shot.
Jack is always taking Daddy's glasses, but this is the first time he tried them on...

Everyday, our little man is getting bigger, but sometimes he'll get an expression that reminds me of the little baby that once lived with us...

We use to call him the angry sleeper, because in his swing he'd always fall asleep with an angry expression on his face and sometimes he still does. He'll always be my baby.

Jack and Big Elmo

There are a few things Jack loves more than Big Elmo...cookies, ice cream and hopefully his parents.
He likes Big Elmo to ride around in the car with him and occassionally bestows Big Elmo with hugs.
He helps him look out the window.

He reads him books.

And hugs him some more. Jack is such a sweet little man!

Lions and Tigers and Dinosaurs?

We recently took a trip to the Detriot Zoo where we saw all kinds of animals, including animotronic Dinosaurs!

The Zoo Train gave Jack and Daddy a chance to bond.

You can't tell by this picture, but the Dinosaurs were Jacks favorite part. He has been talking about them for days.

Busy, busy, busy boy!

I picked up this little horse and thought I'd sell him on Etsy.
Jack is quite taken with him though, even though he's on the small side.

He's also quite taken with his new bike, which Grandma and Grandpa Wheaton dropped off. It's a belated birthday gift. They were in Florida and wanted to be able to give it to him in person... and now the weather is just right for riding a bike.
HEY, what are these things?
Another fun thing to do is to jump off rocks with Daddy at Ella Sharp Park.

Look closely, he's levitating!

And always a little helper, Jack had to help me put my tulips in the vase.
